The First Game:
Purley Jubilee under 10's Rocked their way to a deserved draw on Saturday, despite an appalling pitch, which made our usual "total football" style, difficult.

Two nil down after 15 minutes, the BMG-sponsored lads showed maximum spirit and commitment to draw level with a classy strike from Joe Swaine, and a stunning equaliser from Kieran Rose.

The boys ran their little over size shorts off, in a hard fought contest with gallant opponents, Dynamo, and were the much more likely side to win in the end.

Great performances from all the boys, Frankie and George were rocks at the back, Benny (The Tank) Kieran, and the dangerous Cobley brothers, Ben and Tom, were all explosive in midfield, and our captain, Joe never stopped running and hustling.

Alex Cawthraw was drafted in as Goalkeeper late on Friday night..... What a debut!!!!! Never played before.... lacking in ANY experience of competitive football.... and an absolute natural..... God this is a great game when you are young. Roll on next week.

I can't tell you the stress, pride and feeling of "doing something" this brings to us Dads.
